TextFix is a free, source available Mac app that rewrites the text you select. There is no TextFix server, so we never see your text, your key or how you use the app.

The text you select

When you press a TextFix shortcut, the app sends the selected text over an encrypted connection directly to the AI provider you chose in the settings, for example OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. The provider sends the new text back to your Mac.

The provider handles your text under its own API terms and privacy policy. Please read them before you choose a provider. If you choose Ollama, the text stays on your Mac.

Your API key

Your key is stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. TextFix only sends it to the provider it belongs to.

What we don't collect

No account, no email address, no analytics, no crash reports, no advertising and no tracking. The app saves its settings only on your Mac.
